Your health is our number one concern. Please make our office staff aware of any conditions or situations which will make our clinic a more desirable place to be.

Referrals

Referrals are at the discretion of the doctor. Patients often assume that it is simple for doctors to make a letter of referral. However, the system requires the doctor to complete a full history and physical, send the patient for investigations and tests, and have a provisional diagnosis before a referral can be made. Family doctors only refer specific complicated cases.

One Problem per Visit

Focus only on one problem per visit. In order to ensure an accurate diagnosis, a doctor must do a proper history, physical exam and investigations, along with explaining potential medication side effects and arranging follow-up. If a patient brings 'a list' of concerns, the quality of care diminishes. What may seem like a simple problem to a patient might turn out to be of serious concern. It is therefore recommended that you schedule further appointments to address additional concerns and focus on one issue at a time.
